OVERALL ASSESSMENT AND COMMENTS | From Jan 2025, Portland Press has moved its (formerly) hybrid journals to the Subscribe to Open (S2O) publishing model. Within the Consortium, institutions can choose between two options that differ in services and pricing: “Premium Publishing” and “Classic S2O”. The difference is that with “Premium Publishing” (formerly “Read & Publish”), institutions guarantee OA publishing for affiliated authors, even if the threshold to open up the journal for the specific year is not met (in addition, publishing services in the Gold OA title are also included in “Premium Publishing”). |
