Case Study published “Management of article processing charges – challenges for libraries”

Max Planck Digital Library published a case study in the UKSG journal “Insights”.
The paper describes the individual steps required in order to assume charges centrally for open access publications at the Max Planck Digital Library. Currently, there is a range of potential barriers that may emerge during this process. In order to establish more scalable and efficient workflows there is a need for the optimisation of article submission systems, better author identification and assignment, and improved reporting.
